LG Optimus V Official Update – Know The Facts
Virgin Mobile released an “upgrade” last month for the LG Optimus V. I originally thought that it would be an upgrade to Android 2.3, but this is not the case.
There have been some spotty reports that a few phones have been upgraded officially to Android 2.3, but this update is not it.
This article is not nearly as comprehensive as I would like it to be, as I have honestly just not had the time to go through the whole process on one of my spare phones as of yet.
However, I assume that upgrading the phone patches items like the ability for the first generation of LG Optimus V phones to be used as a hotspot among other things.
Since Virgin Mobile is pretty “vague” about the whole thing, I usually assume in these cases that the patches serve the service (Virgin Mobile) more than the consumer.
I’ve collected a few links for you to continue to do some research into the update for the LG Optimus V – If any of you hear anything about updating to Android 2.3, let me know.

It’s Here!
They said it was coming last October, but Virgin Mobile put off capping their unthrottled data speeds until sometime in 2012.
We are now at that time.
After the 23rd of March, 2012, you get 2.5 GB of unthrottled speed a month.
For most of you, this will not affect you at all. So, DO NOT panic!
