Got 3G Connection Problems? Try This…

Airplane-ModeBlast from The Past – Top Post RerunĀ

Have you ever had problems connecting to your 3G connection on your LG Optimus V or Motorola Triumph?

I have recently discovered something that seems to reset the 3G and data connection quickly without pulling the battery or restarting the phone. Try it!

  • Hold down the power button to make the “phone options” menu pop up.
  • Next turn “airplane mode” on, which turns off all wireless anything, including all mobile network data.
  • Once you turn “airplane mode” on, you can immediately hold the power button down again, bring up the “phone options” menu for the second time, and then turn “airplane mode” back off.

This will reset the network connection – sort of like resetting a router.

I’ve had much better success with this method than by just going in to settings and turning off mobile data. I had always thought that doing this was the exact same thing, but with “airplane mode”, I’ve had twice the success rate.

Keep in mind that this will only work if your 3G or 1x boxes have not gone away completely– This usually means that there are much larger problems on Virgin Mobile’s side of things. There is nothing you can do about it except wait until it turns back on.

To test whether this is the case or not, I will often press the “activate” app again and if it is able to connect and reactivate my phone, then the problem was probably my phone. If that program is unable to connect, then it is the cell service.

Try it out, and let us all know how it went — I do have a comment box below!
