Troubleshooting
Save $80 on the Motorola Triumph Android Phone at Virgin Mobile! When someone comes to me saying that X, Y, or Z is wrong with their Android phone (LG Optimus V, Motorola Triumph, or any other phone) or I have a problem with one of the phones I own, I have an easy three-step process that I go through myself every time.
Read Them! Practice Them! Memorize them!
Rock These Three Rules
1. Restart, Restart, Restart!
- “Soft Reset” – Restart your phone – Its simple, but it often works.
- “Hard Reset”
- turn off the phone
- pull the battery out of the phone
- put the battery back in
- turn the phone back on
2. Clean, Clean, Clean!
- Clean out your phone’s “cache” – There are many apps that can do that in one click, and I recommend using Superbox because I use it daily myself.
- Uninstall apps, starting with the ones most recently installed and work backwards. See if the problem with your phone is corrected after each uninstall, which should help you isolate the problem if the problem is caused by an app.
3. Reset, Reset, Reset!
- As a last resort, you will want to try resetting your phone to factory defaults, which essentially means that it will make all of the software, settings, and data go back to the way it was before you took it out of the package for the first time.
- You can reset the phone by pressing the menu button from the home screen – On the Motorola Triumph, it is the far left physical button – and then select “Settings”. From the “Settings” menu, scroll to the “Privacy” option and select it. Select the “Privacy” menu option in the Motorola Triumph called “Factory Data Reset”. Follow the prompts to reset your phone completely. It is super important that you do not mess with your phone at all during this process, and make sure there is enough battery life or do it plugged in just in case.
- Make sure that if you are able to do so that you backup your data before resetting, as it will completely wipe your phone (not your microSD card, however).
If you have gone through all of these steps and the problem with your phone remains, then you need to contact Virgin Mobile for warranty service unless you know that you are the one that broke it by dropping or drowning it. In the case of the latter, you should have bought insurance like I told ya! Geez….

Hi,
I'm in Charleston, SC and just ported my ph# from att to vm with the new moto Triumph. I get a very weak signal for the phone and none or spotty for internet. This is in the same areas where I used to get 3g with att.
Does anyone else have the same issue? Calls seem to be ok but internet, which is the man reason I moved to vm, really sucks. Will rooting fix this?
Any comments greatly appreciated.
Seems to be a common complaint with this phone – I am considering switching back to my V myself……
I connected my triumph to wifi at home, now I cant get the 3g on anywhere I go,
The two are unrelated most likely – however, if you are having 3G connection problems and your Wi-Fi is turned off, try puting your phone in to airplane mode and then taking it back out. This usually resets the 3G.
I’m getting very upset!!! Since I have had my Triumph I am unable to send pics to my family! WHAT GIVES????!!! Plese help!
Sometimes there are conflicts between networks. This is one possible cause. I need a lot more detail if I\’m going to try to help you past my normal troubleshooting techniques. Email me at rockthatmobile@gmail.com and I\’ll try to help ya out.
Do you know if it is possible to undelete email on a Motorola Triumph phone?
No, not possible on the device itself, but if your email exists on another server, you may be able to look in a trash bin through going to it on a desktop pc web browser. In other words, you may have deleted the email from your device but not from your mail server which often has an alternative web browser internet login. In addition, you may have a trash area in your email on the phone as well. Look around a bit more and you might find one.
