Why You Should Always Buy Your Virgin Mobile Phones From Virgin Mobile USA
Regardless of whether you are buying a cheap PayLo phone or a Beyond Talk Android like the LG Optimus V or the new Motorola Triumph, I am completely convinced that you should ALWAYS buy it from Virgin Mobile USA directly.
This is why:
If you buy online or in a branded Virgin Mobile retail store, you get a 30 day money back guarantee where you can return the phone (undamaged of course) for ANY reason. In other words, you get a 30 day free no risk trial of the phone minus return shipping costs (if you send it back).
The 30 Day money back guarantee is more than any retail store in many states offer. Some states require that retail stores have a return policy for prepaid mobile phones, but some do not.
In my state, Washington, if you bought a Motorola Triumph or LG Optimus V from Best Buy, Target, Radioshack, or Walmart, you may not be able to return it unless it was broken — and then, you may only be able to do an exchange and not be able to get your money back. Once again, I emphasize “may” – not “for sure”.
Long and short guys, it is worth the security of the 30 Money Back Guarantee from Virgin Mobile USA to buy direct from them.
I do it every time, and I highly recommend it to anyone who asks.

While I agree with the basic premise, I think it ultimately depends on the price. If you're already sure of what you want, it may be worthwhile to buy elsewhere given a big enough price difference.
For instance, Best Buy Mobile was running a promotion for 30% off Virgin Mobile and Boost Mobile phones plus an additional $50 Best Buy gift card.
This means you could pick up a Motorola Triumph for $209, plus get another $50 card, which you could use to buy a $20 & a $30 Virgin Mobile minutes cards.
Paying an effective $159 plus tax rather than $299 plus tax makes a lot of sense if you know what you want.
IMHO, of course.
Well of course you are right, but we can both agree that these sales don't happen everyday. In most cases, buying direct is best.
When I bought my Optimus V from my local Best Buy here in Arizona I was told I could return it within 30 days for any reason for a full refund of the ($129) purchase price. They said I just couldn't get a refund for the month of airtime I had paid for.
That's consistent with the return policy they advertise on their website: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Help-Topics/Returning…
Perhaps it has changed, but last I checked.in washington(six months ago) it was on some exclusions list. I will oooooo into it though and amend my post if needed. Thanks for reading!
I work at Target, and our return policy is 90 days with a receipt. Airtime cards are not refundable, even if unactivated, but the phone is.
what if i got at target but lost receipt?
