Retro Camera Plus is Free at Amazon Appstore Today – I've been waiting for this one!

Save $80 on the Motorola Triumph Android Phone at Virgin Mobile!

I have been waiting for the Retro Camera Plus to come out as a free paid app on Amazon for a while. It is a fun camera app that lets you pretend that you are six different types of vintage cameras with the look and feel of the camera expereince from taking the photo to the way the photo would develop had it been taken with one of the vintage cameras.

This is not a replacement for traditional camera apps, but it is a VERY fun addition. The app is quite large, but all but 1MB will move to the microSD card. If you do not have a program installed that manages this for you yet, I recommend SuperBox.

Retro Camera Plus will keep track of how many photos you take with each type of camera, and if you are particularly curious, you can look at the vintage camera facts to detail unique features.

I love this app because it just feels fun in my hands. The whole experience makes me think of my Grandfather’s work as a photographer in WWII. Photos are powerful and the role of the camera in our history these last 150 years has revolutionized the way we all view our world.

Hold some history in your hands and play with it! Try Retro Camera Plus now!

The Bärbel

An East German classic, naturally faded with a scratched film and medium vignetting, the perfect all-round choice.

The Little Orange Box

The Soviet Staple with aggressive cross processing and scratched square film. Its crummy plastic lens leaks in light, exhibiting strong vignetting. The black and white option makes this camera prime for more versatile expression.

Xolaroid 2000

This camera inspires candid snapshots. Blue-green cross processing effects, timeless contrast, and a black and white option come standard with this classic.

The Pinhole Camera

A do-it-yourself gem and more unpredictable than Schrödinger’s cat. This camera exhibits full bleed developing and vignetting through the roof, so be sure to give this cardboard chimera a try.

The FudgeCan

The perfect rig for outdoors; developed on square film that wasn’t quite stored… or developed right. But therein lies the charm that’ll make your pictures with this beauty memorable and instantly nostalgic.

The Hipsteroku

Use this camera to capture your memories with intense color and a clean image. Images finish with an classic, old style white stock frame.
